Going away

I'll be going a way for a week. Will my planted aquarium be ok if the lights are off? I don't have a timer and my family is comming with me-no one here to turn the lights on

Whenever I go away on vacation, I leave the aquarium light on for the plants. I just make sure that the fish have a place to hide or get shade if they don't want to be in the light.

Personally, I don't think leaving the lights on or off for a week would be good for either the plants or the fish.

Timers only cost around $5 US.

ok, Thanks for the advice guys I'll see if I can get a friend to look after them (and then they could feed the fish too) -I'm too cheap to spend on a timer (I enjoy doing chores like that anyway)
