God My Tanks Looks So Bare Now

7 fish went to lfs today 4 angels and 3 pearl gouramis vinny is sulking and the tank looks bare just until tomorrow when new boy arrives

the rotties name will remain undecided till his personality comes out but if the little green sev stays i may call them ronnie and reggie


the only thing im slightly miffed about is i will be at work when he gets delivered so i dont get to open the box. think the missus is getting a bit cheesed off with marks fish acclimatisation class lol. been a bit like a parent leaving instruction for babysitter

no with vinny its not the fish going he just always gets a cob on and sulks in a root anytime i do anyhting in the tank like waterchange sand clean etc.

Species tank for the froggies, 4 ickle ADF's, will up the numbers as I get more experienced with them.

Ahh the rainbows, just the dwarfs and trifs, want to make space for the elliotti and possibly another sev and up the numbers of lacustris, no matter how big the tank, I always want more space in it Of course, once Tex is rehomed, I may not sell his tank, stick the breeding trifs in it and see if I can get some wriggly rainbows

Have you considered video'ing yourself giving out the acclimatizing instructions, just so she get it just right? Or perhaps hook yourselves up via webcam so you can nag her directly?

Yeah lokkocha is looking and is in Barnsley I believe, not sure how far that is from Durham but worth a shot.


Shall wait and see how yours is from Trimar and then may give it serious consideration Mark

maybe in the 180 you could try for a breeding pair of eliotti .

Still need more room for another sev in the large tank though, I need a bigger house, I need more tanks, I need more money for electricity

yeah i hear you i need loads of tanks but only got the space for 1 so i made sure it was as big as poss lol . there will of course be a rotkeil pic epedemic as he settles grows and develops more colour .

if youre anything like me you will decide then change a 100 times what you want in the 180 then decide on something then at the last min do something totally different then spend 6 months changing it around

Do you know how large the rotkeil will be when you pick it up? I ask because of the size difference in the sev you have now and your new one. Don't want to have any aggression issues.

just over 4.5 inches which makes him a little smaller than my red sev but not much ( hes almost 6" ) i know there will be no issues from my red as hes a placid chap i put a green sev in there half his size with no problems whatsoever. im not going into this blind and ignorant i have read many threads on several forums about peoples experiences / advice with adding another sev to an existing setup . there is plenty of space and plenty of retreats in my tank so unless the rotkeil im getting turns out to be a moody one everything should be fine .
