Okay, I really need some clarification on distinguishing gobys, blennys and jawfishes. I know how to tell apart a goby and blenny by their dorsal fins, but jawfishes just made it all more confusing. Can someone please explain to me how I can tell the difference between these three? I would really like to know so that I can accurately identify them to customers for my job. I've mistaken jawfishes for blennys too many times.

Thank you~

Just get their attention and ask the jaw fishes to move to the left side of the tank, and the Lenny's move to the right. What's so tricky?

I don't know, they might take offense to that!

Please, I need to know, online sources won't give me a clear answer. When I absolutely can't get an answer from other online sources, I come to these forums, so I'm obviously desperate! Am I the only one confused by this??
