I had 2 glow fish (danios) which ive had for a month or so. I have them with 4 Rainbows. I added 3 more glow fish about 2 weeks ago. Well after a few days, 3 of the glow fish went missing. 2 of the new ones and one original. I have a large resin rock which is my main decor with holes throughout. Well after a day i lifted up the rock to try and find them. Out came one of the new guys (dead). But still no sign of the other 2. Until tonight. Back comes the original guy. Has a scrape or 2 but hes doing fine. SO hes been missing id say atleast a week. But still no sign of the other guy. Do you think they just got stuck in the rock or were they mating or something? lol I dont want to pick the rock up and disturb anything. Thanks Guys...

They won't have been mating; danio spawning involves lots of mad dashing about through plants. How big is your tank and what species of rainbow are they? Have you tested your water at all?

Found him lol. I have a Fluval G3. And today i was cleaning the filter and doing a water change and there he was in the filter cartridge. So back in the tank he went. took him a few minutes to get used to it. Since the cartridge was so small, when I put him in the tank he was basically swimming in circles lol. But after a good stretch he seems fine. The other new guy has grown but this guy is tiny. So put some food and he scarfed it all down and the other danios have him swimming all over. I have a 30 gallon long and i dont remember which rainbows. They fade from blue to yellow.

You have a G3? Very nice piece of kit!

If you found one of your fish trapped in the filter, sounds like you nead to place an extra guard over the intake pipe. You could do this with some womens stockings/tights (seriously!) or some fine wire mesh. Otherwise it is likely to happen again.

Yeah he was in there twice. I bought a filter spong from petco and zip tied it on. Now hes big enough where he cant get sucked in.
