Those things look sweet! Does anyone know where to find them? are they infirtle too?

They're Zebra Danios genetically modified to include a glowing gene from a species of marine jellyfish.
They're only usually available outside of Asia via mail order, although there are acceptions.
Most people consider them a rather bad idea.

Please do not flame, I know the subject of glo-fish and other 'un natural' fish is contraversial and emotive but please discuss the availability of Glo-Fish in a calm, repectful, objective way.
Thanks for 'listening'

I've heard good things and that they are not infirtile. Subsequent generations, due to the gene splicing will also glow in the same fasion.

From what i understand they are just as hardy as normal Zebra Danios, just red and glow under a blacklight.

IMO they aren't so bad. Everyone has a different opinion, some people feel it's wrong to alter the genetics of any animal, human or otherwise. My personal opinion is that they are just like normal danios, just red, and are actually kinda cool. Personally I don't mind scientists experimenting with genes of animals and, dare I say it, one day humans (I'll probably get skewered for saying that!)

To the left side there's a link that says "Buy Glofish" and offers links to retailers. Or you can ask your LFS to order them for you. At $5.00+ each though, you'll want to be sure to get them. That's $25 minimum worth of fish for a proper school.
