Glittery Cichlids?

I noticed my convict cichlid not moving around as much and now it looks like it is covered in silver glitter is this normal or not what should i do

Sounds like velvet. Its highly contagious and can kill if left unchecked. Go out and buy proper meds. I don't know exact names and such, but the package says it treats velvet on it. Treat the entire tnak as most likely the parasite has jumped ot other fish in the tank at this time. It is really quick ot do so. I'm sorry I can't help more.

Could be Whitespot...

If its the same thing that this thread describes, I'm inclined ot think velvet. When you menion glittery I think metallic like, and on a fish not supposed ot be metallic looking, then well... it sounds liek velvet.
Whitespot usually is jsut thta white and not metallic. Just my interpretation of hte info relayed is all.
