I have been given a glass tank (60l) and have just been inspecting the tank only to find some chipped corners and chips off the side of the bottom piece of glass. My father owned a glass shop and I was wondering if it was worth getting it fixed or just getting a new tank made or bought???

Thanks M4R13Y

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you've been given, then see how much it is to get it fixed. If it's too much, chuck it, you've not lost anything.

I think I might get my father to silicone a piece of 4 mm glass along the chipped sides and then add aqua silicone to the internal joints to renew them.

Do you think this will work

Don't see why it wouldn't.

Plus it would be free because they have tonnes of scrap glass that is too thin width wise to use for any other purpose such as picture frames and also he found a tube of silicone designed for aquariums.

No-brainer, then, innit!

Hahaha yer

Do you know anywhere I can find DIY lighting plans because I thought a standard fluorescent bulb wouldn't be enough
