Hi all, i was wondering about cleaning inside the glass of my tank. I am currently in the middle of cycling the tank with fish in and i am doing very frequent water changes so the fish arent put through too much unecessary stress. The water is cloudy at the minute (bacterial bloom!) even with the water changes but the glas on the inside has marks on it. Is it best to leave it untill cycle is complete or can i use one f those aquarium glass cleaner sponge things? Thanks GRJ :good:

I think you should be fine using a sponge to clean the sides of the tank. Just be sure it is made for fish tanks and you'll be fine. :good:

I got these cloudy marks all over my new tank that wont come out with just water and a sponge, can anyone reccommend something to clean my tank, is their any safe cleaning agents I can use? My tank is empty at the moment ( its new but has been sitting on display and has marks all of the glass). Fish wont be going in there for another month prob.

cheers, rob

Dilute vinigar will work to remove water marks, just be careful not to get too much into the water. A small amount should be harmless to fish. For the inside of the tank, either use magnetised cleaners, to do both the inside glass and the front glass at the same time, or use a damp cloth, possibly with a little vinigar for stubborn marks, and a dry cloth to wipe down. A sponge would be fine for the internal glass.
