One of my Glass Catfish has a growth on its tail that appears to be growing and one of my other Glass Catfish has recently started showing some signs of white patches on the under side of its belly.

The b*ggers wont stay still long enough for a decent photo but here goes:

What should I do?  Should I treat and will it affect any of my other fish in the tank?

This might be lymphocystitis (spelling?). One of my Barilius (now Opsarius) canarensis had a random growth of cells coming out of one the corner of its midline black spots, it was easy to spot once the fish had been with me for ~6 months. The patch got bigger with time, but the fish was still active and acting like the others when "MartinS" collected the group from me ~12 months ago (~20 months after buying the fish). It did not knowingly spread to any other fish or to more growths on the same fish.

Not an easy thing to diagnose, one of many reasons you have not had a reply until now, might be worth seeing if a local vet has a fish specialist and/or a LFS has someone who has qualifications to do a fish scraping or identify the issue in person.

Thanks for the response.  My wife used the internet to see what we could find and also came to the conclusion that it could be lymphocystis (Correct Spelling) which hopefully wont spread to the other types of fish and as there is no know cure I don't think there is much we can do.
