Glass Aquariums - Couple Of Cheap Places In Uk

Hi all,

There are a few places in the UK that make glass aquariums that arent silly prices, one is BOSS but can anyone point me to any others?

Looking for a quote on a big (for me at least...having just read the thread on the behemoth tank!!) 7-8ft tank but want to see how tank depth spirals price - I know it pretty drastic due to the sudden weight of the water increase meaning thicker glasss and more reinforcing etc!

They may even be a post on this already (sure I asked this ages ago when I got my list of comapnies to start with hahaha) but I cant find it

PS: looking for cuttings of some low level creaping plants - Dwarf Hairgrass, Crypts, Micro Swords etc - gimme a should if you can spare a little bit

i used boss and it took 3 months for them to deliver the bloody thing! then my receipt said £180! i payed £299! they were also meant to refund my postage cost due to me waiting so long but it nev er happend. con artists plain and simple they royally naffed me off.

id advise you to use anyone else

I've heard good things about N&D aquatics and fit filtration. I tried ringing BOSS a few times for a quote and they never returned my calls.. they sound pretty pants!

I used Windsor Aquatics (look in the site sponsors forum) for my 900g tank and would definately recommend them to others, i found their prices to be very reasonable.

If you keep the tank height to below 28" then the prices stay quite low but once you cross that boundery the glass gets thicker and the prices shoot up.

No price lists because they specialise in custom built aquariums rather than off the shelf bog standard sizes, but for a rough guideline i believe i paid £210 for a 6x2x2 from them a couple of years ago, but that may not be a current price. Drop them a PM with the size you want and Keith usually replies within a few hours.

I can vouch for ND Aquatics, i and a few others from a different forum have used them, very good and very pleasant to deal with, based in Herts, so only really applicable if you live in the London, Herts or Essex regions really, or it will cost you a fair bit for the delivery, otherwise delivery is either very cheap or completely free
