Giving Fruit/veggies In The Tank

I have seen threads, and in Pet Stores, that people give there fish fruit/veggies.
Which ones are best for them, is there any thing special I would need to do to it before giving it to them?
I have mollies, is there a specific one that would be good for them?

I used to put a few slices of Cucumber in my old tank ... the fish used to love it ... not sure what else you can put in though

I give mine peas =]

i just put some frozen peas in a bowl of boiling water until they become soft, the just crush them up and add them to the tank, helps with their digestive system!

I've been advised to blanche some lettuce and feed them.

Yeah, that works too, however it isnt usually as readily devoured as cucumber and pees...
