We are closing down our Malawi tank so we are taking our fish to a shop.
It is not the shop we bought them from.
I am ringing the man tomorrow but my question:
Should i ask him to buy the fish opposed to me just giving them to him?

It's not just a couple of fish it's about 50 and he is going to re-sell them so i don't think it would be cheeky to expect something for them?

I know that our fish store takes fish on consignment. They will only pay, and it's a very small percentage, if they resell the fish. But you won't know until you ask. I'm sure they have a set policy. Good luck!

Well i'm going to speak to him tomorrow and see what he can offer me....

Iv only ever been able to get a very small ammount of store credit. I wouldn't expect alot. If you've got the time for it, you might be better off trying to locate private buyers in your area.

You might try posting in buy sell swap, you may be able to sell some privately for more than you would get by returning them to a shop.

my niece had some overgrown cichlids. she took them back to the shop where they do take them back and didn't expect money or anything back. but the owner asked if she would like anymore fishes for exchange, as she didn't want anymore fish, they gave her some food and a really good secondhand filter which she needed.

Well after speaking to the man at the shop, he has said his branch doesnt want any Malawis....
Anyway i'm going to put them in the buy/sell/swap section if anyone is interested...
