I hope I didn't offend anyone.. I have a tendency to babble about things. It's still new to me and the science of it is still very interesting.

It seems the formalin is doing the trick. I've seen quite an improvement in just 24 hours. All the fish are more active and I haven't noticed any of the previous symptoms. I'll keep up with the formalin for a couple days to be sure. The ammonia and nitrite are still 0, but I'll continue keeping an eye on it for a while. I'm lucky that I have enough plants to keep the levels down. I wouldn't have known what to do otherwise.

Glad it's being a success. I was worried about your water parameters but like you say it looks like you're planted enough to take care of it. If it is gill flukes, and it looks like it is, it's usual to follow up with an anti bacterial to prevent secondary infection.
