im a little worried about a couple of my new female bettas, their gills are looking a little red. they were all in the same tank at the lps and all seem to have the same redness around their gills. two of them still have bars along their bodies as well :(
i was wondering if the gill problems were related to gill disease or inflamed gills, but i cant seem to find out what the difference is between the two... are they the same thing, just diff names?
i'm pondering treating them with some Kanacyn in hopes to reduce the redness.
they are currently in melafix and have salt in their water.
any suggestions as to how i can help out my girls would be awesome.

well im sry i cant rely help u much, u seem to be doing all that i would recommend :D gill disease is a disease,.... and inflamed gills is caused by poor water conditions or theres something in the water irritateing them. thats all i know -_-

Before treating you have to decide whether it's a parasite or a bacterial infection. It could be gill flukes (parasites),which can be cleared up with some coppersafe. Read these first to better understand what you're dealing with.
