Giant Vallis?

Ok conflicting information galore. Is Vallisneria America gigantae or whatever it's called, from Asia or South America?

vallis is wide spread, it might be from both.... but id be interested to know as well

it is but i think its found all over the place, i think theres a type in the broads where i am... its massive but i still think its vaills...
