Giant Vallis Advice

I have a giant vallis I got off ebay. I;ve planted a couple of runner that came off and their is the main plant which is about 3 ft long. The trouble is it seems to snap on the leaves and look as if they are not as strong as they should be. The baby plant looks better and maybe its suffering from being posted folded up?

Also how should it be planted. I enclose pics of the bulb to see if its too high out the sand etc

The height out of the sand looks fine to me; I have a few giant vallis that are about that height and doing fine.

How long have you had it in the tank? I've always found that vallis can be a bit 'funny' after it's been moved and also if it's not happy where it is. Give it a few weeks and see if it perks up (if it's new in) or try moving it somewhere else in the tank (if it's been in there longer than a month).

hi its been in the tank only a couple of weeks. It came through the post in an envelope which I;m sure didn;t help it!!

Planting looks fine to me. Imagine if you were bent 4 ways and stuck into an envelop. You wouldn't be too happy either. Just give it some time. I'm almost positive the plant has sustained some damage. Roots & crown, though, look really nice, and that's the key...
