whats the maximum size of a giant indian gourami and how long does it take to get there?

too big for a 200litre

i'm not sure but mixmasterjay has a huge giant gourami at leasr 11inches? I'm not sure iif he comes along he'l be able to help you as he has alot of big fish.

Osphronemus goramy grow to well inexsess of 70cm 16inches are quite common,they do grow quite quick id say 11inch being around 1-1,5years

yes that is a problem ,you can find most fish in fish shops including snakehead's which grow well over 3.5feet long, the problem is these fish should have caution's about them however this will never happen, well not aleast for the near future, redtail catfish/tigershovel nose/tinfoil barbs all grow very large and need alot of space..at least you asked proir to buying these big beautiful fish

hate to say even your two gibbiceps will grow huge

i believe you should know about your fish before you buy but ive had some bad advise from lfs now ive got a fin nipper and a killer in the tank and i dont know who it is 3 guppies and a platy dead a few fish inc sd who have nipped fins! any ideas from sig?

2 keyhole cichlids, 1 flag cichlid, 1 red breasted acara, 1 red banded earth eater....these would be very guilty contender's,,,problem is what is your tank size in L/W/D?
Alot of cichlid's for a 200 litre in my oppinion

one gibby is a stop over i adopted him from a friend who has just quit fish keeping! the other i plan to put into a larger tank when money allows and the mrs!!!! one is 4.5" the other about 3"

No problem mate as long as your upgrading then all's good,
I have kept alot of cichlid's in my time, however ive given up and now only have one chocolate cichlid in my 5ft/2ft/2ft....
i shall again get cichlids but will only ever have a solo in a tank or a pair.

I only have females in the tank of all species apart from livebearers which are mixed and the gibbies cant tell the difference!!!

lovely fish!! i like all fish esp what most people class as ugly fish! I would like to keep snake heads but mrs says NO!! she doesnt like the idea also she doesnt like big tanks maybe i could trade her?

love that mate, yes much easier to trade the missus than give up on your dream
She will come around, my missus hated big tanks and snakehead's...guess what no she adores the snakeheads and loves my 150g tank

thats quite big what are the dimensions do you have it on a stand? also if you dont mind how much did it cost?

its a baby tank, its 5 foot / two foot / two foot, yes on a handmade ugly stand by previous owner, it cost me 110pounds with all lights heating and rocks, filter cost me another 150 with media etc, but i wanted a fluval fx5 sooo bad there great filters,
