I was just reading a thread on the betta forum and someone had suggested getting ghost shrimp as bottom cleaners, which I have several of. Another member replied that they didn't like ghost shrimp in their tank because you have to keep iodine in the tank or their shells won't harden after they molt. I researched them before I got them and didn't see anything about iodine. Does anyone else use iodine with their ghost shrimp? If so is there any type of fish that iodine cannot be used with? Also, would you use regular iodine like you get at the drug store for cuts and the like? Thanks in advance. :)

I don't put iodine for my shrimps, but they do benefit from a little amount of it, just like snails, if I'm not mistaken. I think calcium is more important, though (hard water). A betta might eat a ghost shrimp.
