Ghost Shrimp

I bought 6 ghost shrimp today, and thought they were going to be victimized by my platies, and female betta finally they left them alone, anyways they're starting to get a lot of leftover food and my question is how many of these should I get in total for a 29G

p.s. 12 should be plenty for a 29 gal depending on your stockage....(just my opinion.

2f Guppies, 4F Platies, 1F Molly, 1F Betta

6 Ghost shrip is definately enough for that tank. Excellent to watch s well.

yea 6 should be enough. another quesiton why is a betta with your other fish?

I originally bought it thinking it was a different kind of fish. and she gets along well with all my other fish no problems with agression at all

Shrimp generally don't add much to the bio-load so you should be fine with the 6 you have and could probably add a few more if you so desired. You're definitely ok on stocking levels with just the 8 fish.
