i've read different posts regarding using marine salt vs. table salt for ghost shrimps. which is correct or is it just either or. i was planning on getting some ghost shrimp. =)

any advice would be appreciated... thanks!

Neither. Marine salt will probably kill your shrimp and fish and table salt will definitely do it. Use aquarium salt.

Why are you adding any salt? As far as I know ghost shrimp don't need it.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I am now keeping ghost shrimp in 100% freshwater, and they are doing great.

P.T.

if you can read the post correctly..... :*) it is asking a question. nowhere did it state i was using salt. i don't even have any ghost shrimp yet :(

Some species of Ghost Shrimp are actually Brackish and some fish require a little salt so it's a valid question to ask. :)

Yeah, it is a valid question, but so is asking why he wanted to add salt. My bad for not asking my question better, I should have said "Why do you want to add salt...". I'd still like to know, I'm still curious.

We have ghost shrimp and we thought they all died. They molted though. We found them later. Molting is exremely stressfull. Sometimes they die during molting.
