I have some hornwort in one tank, and I'd like to put some of it in another tank -- problem is, the first tank has pesky snails, and I *DON'T* want to transfer them over. They're all through the hornwort though, and no matter how well I rinse it I keep getting more snails. (I guess because the little "needles" of the hornwort are so fine, I can't get it all cleaned out well without pulling all the "needles" off the stem.)

Is there something I can soak the hornwort in that would kill the pesky snails but not harm the plant? ALSO, the new tank I want to put the hornwort in has a betta and an apple snail, so I don't want to use anything that would leave some kind of residue on the plant that would harm them.

Any ideas??
