I seem to have a ramshorn snail problem in my tank. I am really good with rinsing my plants before putting them in my tank but I guess a couple of the little buggers managed to sneak by. So far I have only found a couple of snails but I know how fast they will multiply! I want to get them before it gets out of control. Does anyone know how to get rid of them WITHOUT adding more fish? I know that some Loaches are great for eating them but my tank is already full and I don't have room to add anything else.

One way is to put some cucumber in your tank for a couple of hours. It doesn't take the snails long to find it, making it easier to remove them. Probably won't get rid of every last one but it helps keep the population down!

flubenol 15, that will kill the snails just remember to remove the carcases or your water will foul. :)

That is what I was thinking of getting, will it hurt my plants at all? And what about the really tiny snails? the biggest one I have found so far was only about 2mm, I doubt I will be able to find them all since they blend really well with the gravel in my tank.

You can always pick them out by hand. I haven't had much luck using the cucumber of lettuce leaf ploy as every time I look, there are no snails on them. I've always been weary of the chemicals. If they kill snails, what else will they possibly kill later on such as shrimp, etc. If you do use some type chemical, remember to remove the carbon from your filter if you use it. Otherwise, it will pull them chemicals from the water.

Do you clean your plants in normal tap water before adding them to your tank or use your tank water?

shouldn't hurt your plants or fish, gravel vac will get the smaller snails out of your gravel :)
