I had a couple of tiny snails come in either with the fish or plants. That was only a few weeks ago and now I seem to have at least 10!
I didn't know they multiplied at that rate. I can remove them but they seem to be doing a good cleanup job. I'm just wondering if I'll end up with a tankful!

Just dont overfeed and it should be ok, if they get out of hand I found that my yoyo loach loved to eat them!

As previously suggested, over feeding will definetly cause an infestation

When I had a community tank I got a single Zebra Loach which halted my problem with snails within days (in fact I had to aquire some from time to time as a treat!)

If they start to over run you tank then it means you need to step up on your cleaning. I have about 3 types of snails in almost all my tanks and none of them overrun the tank.

Nowt wrong with snails. They don't eat the plants (unless the plants are dying) and as you say, they do a good clean-up job. If you don't overfeed your fish and you make sure any excess food and dead leaves are removed, you can quite easily manage the population without having to remove/kill any.

I actually adopt snails from other people who just think they're pests. They're cute and great algae eaters :)

I have a painted turtle tank with tons of snails! I hate them. The turtle used to eat some of them but not anymore I think he's sick of them too! I dont know how to get rid of them. Do Dojo Loaches eat snails? I have a couple in my aquarium too.
