EXCITEMENT!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I wondered what you guys would advise in terms of first fish.

The fish I really want in there in the fullness of time are 2 honey Gouramis, a few Glowlight Tetras, and some Corydoras catfish, but I am open to suggestions!

The tank is 60cm x 30cm by the way (around 15 gallons)

Thanks, Sam

Is the tank cycled?
Only pygmy cories would work in that tank I think. So no big cories.
Not sure about the tetras or gouramis.

You would be pretty heavily stocked but with plenty of filtration and a good cleaning schedule you could pull it off.

Albino Cories don't get to big as far as i know so they should work and the glowlight tetras should be good too. i don't how big Gouramis get though as i have not had any yet.

So you can fit 10 cories in a 60 cm long tank?

Why would you need 10? Minimum recommended group is 5 or 6.
I don't know, that's what I've read on this forum, that the minimum isn't enough for them to thrive and that you need 10, and with 10 of the big-bodied cories, you'd be overstocked.

...right we are having the same conversation in two threads here lol, pick one! Show me where you saw 10 given as the minimum number...

I personally only have 4 cories in my tank at the moment and they seem to be thriving just fine and are very active and laying eggs everywhere.

Albino/bronze cories do get quite big; a chunky two or three inches; too big for a 15 gallon really, especially once you've got a group of five or six; that wouldn't leave any room for anything else.

One of the dwarf cories (pygmaeus, haststus or habrosus) would be ok though

There are quite a few varieties of cory that only get up to about 2 inches that they could have though. Even the sterbai doesn't go to 3 inches. Pandas would be fine, they are mega cute

Picked the cory thread since it's cory related. But I gave up trying to look through threads I've posted in to get the posts about keeping 10 cories and that 6 is a bare minimum which isn't good for cories. There are waaay too many threads to find that one I've read this in though. X_X
