Im picking up my second tank tomorrow. Its a Fluval roma 90L with Fluval 2+ filter. Im currently re-fish in cycling my first tank (a tiny overstocked 17L tank ive had for a couple of months)

So, i have a few questions.

1. It doesn't have a heater with it, does anyone recomend any particular make and model of heater (for reliability, accuracy of temp dial?) or should i just get any one capable of heating 90L to 24-26 degrees...
2. I currently have zebra danios and harlequin rasbora (i will be increasing the numbers of these once the current stock has been moved to the 90..what other fish do you recomend for a tank of this size. (6-8 zebra danios and 6-8 harlequins + ??????????????????)
Maybe a bristlenose or 2? or corys? (i think a lot of bottom feeders are ugly but i'd like some activity at the bottom of the tank...
3.What substrate do people recomend for my stocking/recomended stocking....

And dont worry, the 90 will be fishless cycled before moving the residents in. As the 17L is still not processing ammonia into nitrite?!

Hopeless with the heater sorry, but might be able to help you with the other stuff...

If you want some interesting bottom dwellers have you thought about loaches? You could keep khuli, a single pakistani (yoyo) or a small school of Sidthimunki (which I THINK is called the dwarf loach or chain loach). These are all fish with pretty markings. Clown loaches are even prettier, way too big for your tank though.
Corys are a good option, if you want a bristlenose I'd only have one in that size tank. If you ended up with two males, they would fight.
The L number catfish might be an option if you have a healthy bank balance; some are cheapish, some are anything but, many of them are quite attractive. A lot of them are also enormous, so if you seriously consider those do your research first.

Were you thinking about anything for the top, because a few gouramis might be nice... I'm a big fan of leeri (pearl/lace gourami) but there are several attractive species. You couldn't have a betta though because the danios will nip his fins.

I'm also a big fan of platys for a community that size - they don't school but move freely through the tank, so if you had a group of them wandering around, with the schooling fish weaving through them, it would look very nice. Platys are absolutely unkillable. You seriously have to tip bleach in the tank to knock them off, they are extremely forgiving. They will also breed.

quite like the look of young bristlenoses, but the bristles ruin them so i may go for 1 female..also 1 male 2 female platy of some kind along with my danios and harlequins...that should have me almost fully stocked shouldn't it
