Getting A 10 Gallon Fish Tank

Yesterday I got a Jack Dempsey Cichlid (female)in my 29 gallon fish tank. Since the JD was only an inch or two, he was getting along with the other same size fish which include 5 albino cory catfish, 1 black molly, 1 gold twinned barred platy, 1 red wag platy, and 10 neon tetras. On my birthday Dec. 11, I am going to get a 10 gallon tank (starter kit) and put the neon tetras and the rest of the fish in there except 3 of the albino corys. I was wondering if it was ok to have 15 fish in a 10 gallon

The neons would go in fine, but there's not enough room for the other fish as well, plus cories need to be in a group of at least 6, so you shouldn't split them up.

No, it's not. The best thing to do is rehome the JD. You probably won't, but it really is the best thing to do. None of the other fish will do well going from a 29g to a 10g, especially in the large numbers you have. And frankly, the molly and platies would do better in larger numbers. But what possessed you to get a JD?? Which, by the way, will outgrow your 29g in no time.

A 55g is the minimum size for a JD.
