I am setting up a 20 gallon and 10 gallon german blue ram tank. How many water changes a week will I have to do because I know they are sensitive to water conditions. Also can I just take out a filter sponge from my aquaclear 50 in another tank and put it on the new tanks aquaclear 50 and will that make the tank ready to put the fish in as soon as i transfer the sponge since it has good bacteria on it? Or will water temp and different ph kill the bacteria and make it cycle and if it does how long are we talking for it to cycle? And lastly how many german blue rams can i fit in a 10 gallon? Thanks!!

10 Gallons is too small for a pair of Mikrogeophagus ramirezi

20 Gallons is much more appropriate, you will need to do weekly water changes, roughly 25-50%, and keep the PH below 6.5 and the temperature between 28-32oC.

A sand substrate should be provided along with plants, and a decent diet including lots of meat.
