Gerbil Food

For the past two years I've just been buying my gerbils commercial food, but I've never been real satisfied with it. The majority of it is just bird seed. Anyone have a "recipe" or atleast what I should include, for a homeade gerbil food mixture?

Hi do you give your gerbil fruit and veg, eg cucumber, carrot, apple as well

I'd say that they're probably pretty darned healthy and happy with what you're giving them. As long as you supplement the commercial diet with fresh foods and treats, it works out well. I don't know of any homemade food mixes, all I know is that mixing in all this fresh stuff is awesome for them. Maybe you're not happy... but they are? hehe.. it's up to you but sounds to me like your gerbils are lucky lil buggers.
