Around my area, you can basically get veiltails, or very plain coloured crowntails that usually fail to thrive. So most people stick with veils and by far the most popular colour is pink dalmatian. As soon as they arrive at the LFS they're gone, so I reckon I could make a fair bit of money by breeding these and selling them to the LFS which can't get enough of them. I've got a nice male, Heatstroke, I managed to turn up when they were unloading the bettas and nab him. Problem is that I have never seen a similarly marked female. So what sort of colours should I look for in a female to get this marking to breed true?

TIA.

Do you know anyone else who has a female the colour you're looking for? Maybe you could borrow her :p

No, unfortunately, the only breeder around here is too busy to breed bettas anymore and only has some random tropicals :(. I'm ordering in some off a website because they're really cheap (I need a few more so I have enough for a sorority without them killing each other) so I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.
