Ive gotten various feedback (go ahead and do it's-no it wont work) on this and really kinda would like a definate anwser...

*Ive got my old 10 gallon tank thats been running for over a year (1 1/2 years i think)
*Every available inch of gravel has some sort of plants sticking out of it
*I have a terra cotta clay vase that has a whole in it so fish may enter in/out as a hiding place
*I have a filter thats been running for that 1&1/2 years that is also rated for a 20 gallon
*there will be no other fish in the tank, for im willing to turn up the temp to accomidate the rams
*Im also going to start using ro/rain water for water changes and put some peat moss in the filter to drop the ph a bit
*If for some reason there is trouble and i see one forced into the corner, i will keep on in and move the other to a different tank suitable for it

The question: Is my tank suitable for 1 male and 1 female German Blue Ram?

Definately too small a tank IMO. And the substrate isn't ideal for rams either - they like to sift sand through their mouth (indeed their name - microgeophagus - means small earth eater.) I wouldn't put a pair in anything less than a 65L.

Thanks for the response! I do have a spare 20 tall tank but its not set up and i have no stand at the moment so ill wait to set them in there i suppose (ill make it a lowlight tank with crypts and such, kinda like the 10 gallon). Do you have any other reccomendations? Im open to anything really, as long as i dont have to change current setup.....

I reckon Peacock gobies would look nice in a tank like that - for a relatively small fish mine really do make an effort to be a centre piece. I got 4 about 2 months ago and thought I wouldn't see much of them but I couldn't be further from the truth - they're always out and about, and always come to see me if they see me near the tank.

I looked them up, and they are BEUTIFUL! How many would you say? 4? try and sex them maybe? or is 4 to many? And do they accept flake and pelets (majority of the times ill offer frozen foods but for when i go on vacations... auto feeder)

You should get away with four, try and pick pairs if possible.
