I'm in the UK, my tank is 100x40cm. In my head it didn't really make sense if the tank is only 90 litres when mine is 180-200 litres.
No matter what country we are in,
If the tank is 100x40x50 then it's 200 Litres
If it's 100x40x45, it's 180L
If it's 100x30x30, it's 90L
Hope that makes sense.

I only said that because someone said "I don't think we get many tanks with these 'thin, short' proportions in the UK. You are probably used to 90cm tanks having bigger dimensions."

We do but you may have to search a bit and avoid the big brand "all included and ready to go" packages. This one is one of my own favourites - its 90x30x30 cm. And yes that's 60 litres if I fill it to the brim and remove the substrate.
