A few of my guppies have some fuzzy white cottony stuff on their heads. I put some salt in the tank and used some "Quick Cure," but it hasn't gone away. Any ideas? I only put about 8 tsp of salt in my tank (29 gallon), but I don't want to put much more in there because I have cories.

How long have you been treating them? Have you removed your filter carbon?

Sounds like fungus if it looks a bit like cotton wool?

Oh, I should remove the carbon? I'll do that tonight. :) What's wrong with carbon, anyway?

Carbon will remove any medications from a tank usually and carbon is also used for removing color/odors thing of that sort. So I would advise taking that out and seeing if that helps in the treatment of your fish. Also re-dose your water after you take the carbon out.

So remove your carbon. Do a water change just to make sure you don't overdose in case any medication did stay in the tank. Then add medication again and do as directed on medication.

Also take a look at this pic below. It has a picture of a catfish with ich. Do your guppies white spots look like this? Or do they look more fluffy?

Okay then I would actually try treating with an anti-fungal medication, that targets fungus more. I would try treating with pimafix and see if that helps at all. And not treat with salt. As with the Pimafix give half the does because as I believe you said in your first post you have cories.
