I want to turn my 30g into an apisto breeding tank (in the future) but since it is so tall (2Tx2Lx1W) I wanted to add some tetras and hatchets (are hatchets tetras?) to spice up what would be a very empty middle and top. I have four cories that will need to go in with them, I have them in my guppy breeder ten, but I want them in the thirty, and a bristlenose that's already in the thirty.
I was thinking something along the lines of this:
3 apistos (1m/2f)
4 cories
6 rummynose or neons
6 marble hatchet fish
1 bristlenose
I still can't make up my mind about neons or rummies, since all the neons I ever see seem to hide all the time while the rummies are more out in the open. There wouldn't be an issue of an aged tank, since I've had this one running close to a year. I just don't know if it's too much for the tank. I have a penguin 160 (I know, they don't make those anymore
) so the filtration is right, and I know six is supposed to be the smallest amount for schooling fish to feel comfortable in. I just wanted to know the general idea of stocking so I can plan and save up for the fish.
