As requested ;)
It used to be really nicely planted before the move, I'm gonna start working on it again as soon as I buy a better light hood for it. The place I work now sells all sorts of specialty plant substrates and things, so it should be fun to work with :D

Aw, they're gonna have freaky hybrid babies. ::laughs:: If I didn't have a few million tanks allready, I'd so want some; what a cool oddity!

I have never seen bettas like that :D
They are very pretty.

errm, hasn't it been decided that raja and fusca are the same fish?

 It looks awesome already! They are lucky bettas. :)

The IBC species maintenance program still has them listed as separate species, but I'm not up on the most recent info to be honest. They do live in the same area in the wild and are very similar, so it's possible, but I can tell the difference between mine... seems like the fusca have shorter snouts :dunno:

...But since scientists can't even properly agree what makes a species anyway, lets just say they're different

Cute couple, love the chubby cheeks

*scratches head*

So...were your intentions to hybridize?

ETA~ I checked in to it and they are indeed different species. So may I ask why, exactly, you're allowing this? What are you going to do with them?

I'm not trying to do it (have a little faith :p). Like I said in the first thread about this, I have a pair of fusca and a pair of raja in the same tank and these are the two that paired up. I have no intention of raising the fry unless somebody just wants them as pets, there are plenty of things in that tank that would be happy to munch them. The male swallowed again anyway, so no biggie ^_^

EDIT: Also, at the moment I don't have a tank free for fry in the first place, so I don't mind letting these two have their fun. When I have a tank free and am seriously trying to breed them, I will separate the pairs.
