Hi

I have just upgraded my tank to a juwel rio 180 from a much smaller tank ( roughly 50 litres ) i slowly transferred the bog wood i had in the old tank, and a couple of fish at a time over the past few weeks, have been changing the water, and levels are all okay, fish seem to be thriving - but the bog wood from the old tank ( despite being scrubbed of all the built up 'crap' before it went in and left to soak ) seems to now be covered in a strange furry substance - bits of it are breaking off and floating around the tank, along with small white 'bits'.
Sorry if im vague - i've been keeping fish for a year or so and have had no problems with anything so far ( touch wood ) and am not very knowledgeable on parasites/diesease's etc.
Does this sound like a problem? - or should i simply do another water change and remove bog wood to scrub/soak again. It doesnt seem to be affecting any of the fish at all - it just looks hideous!

Thanks,

Leila

Remove the bogwood, boiling water and salt and let it soak, rinse well, and let the bogwood dry out aday before placing back in the tank.
