Funny/weird/bad?

my new betta, yet to name, does the weirdest thing. my betta tends to lay on his side with his head in the java moss. i tap the tank and he jumps up and starts acting normal. he does it all the time and never seems to be sick. does anyone elses betta do this? hes very clever and reminds me of a dog. as i type this hes "sitting" on my valls. lol right in between like sittin in a tree!! hilarious! anyways ill have some pics later. let me know if anyone has seen this with theirs. btw im new to bettas and love them already...very cool fish

Mine usualy do it if they aren't well I've got one who is geting on a bit who does it... I went in with the net thinking he was a gonner and then he swam round. Since then he's stayed near the top,,,probably in fear of geting scooped out while still breathing lol. Oh and may be best not to tap the glass,,,it reverberates through the water and it does actualy cause the fish to poo themselve s with fright. Perhaps just swish the water a bit to check he's ok. And yes they do have such characters , all of mine are totaly different and i luv all of them to bits.

as dusky says each betta is different, some lie down some flare all the time, some play dead and are good at it some love to hide, some will follow their owners, eat from the hand, you'll never be bored whilst youve got a betta

4 maLES 4 FEMALES 28 8 week old fry, and 2 baby angelfish, dam grandma lol, tells my kid she is gonna get her her OWN tank, i thought this was just gonna be a 1 gal betta bowl... no my mom gets her a 10 ga- us with all the trappings and..... 2 quarter sized angelfish...... i NOW know that they will need a 20 tallor 29 and they get 6 inches tall,, and babies are very delicatre so the pets mart bought ones might die......grr lotta work,, like my bettas better............grandmas.........

this is not normal behavior.... is this betta in a community tank? (just don't know a lot of ppl with java moss in a betta-only tank)

Hahahaha nor did I till i counted them last night. Three of my females morphed into males though otherwise it would of been a bit more even.
