my mom once treated such a fish by physically removing the fungus by gently tugging at it. Then she soaked the fish in saltwater for a while before putting back into the tank. The fish survived for another few months before it got another disease and died.

Old folks method, may not be advisable to try unless no expert here can help.

Good luck to you and your fishes~!

can anyone else help with this as i dont want to start losing my fishes.

thanks

chriso.

Fungus is normally what's known as a 'secondary infection'. That means it's not the real problem; it's something that fish tend to come down with or be affected by because they're already sick in some way.

Have you tested your water recently? Have you done some big water changes (warm, dechlorinated water, of course!)? Made sure you have no dead fish/rotting food hiding away somewhere that could be affecting your water?

A proper fungus med from the shop would be better than any 'home remedies'. Pulling the fungus off won't address the underlying issues.
