I have just noticed three very small white dots on fins and my first set of fish a got four weeks ago :( only on the one fish and it does rub it self on the deco. I thought it might of been white spot but this has not been in my tank and the fish have been ok for four weeks. I'm doing a fish in cycle as i transfered some of my filter media in the new tank. Don't know the water condition as i'm waiting on my test kit, but been doing daily water changes at 30 - 50 %. Best treatment please.

If the spots are the size of a grain of salt it sounds like whitespot.

Raise temp to 30.
Increase aeration.
Make sure you can use the full dose of med with the fish you keep.
Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.

It could be whitespot but if it stays on the fins and tail and the fish has spots on or near its mouth it could also be columnaris. If it spreads over the body it will be whitespot but if you see a cottony growth, especially around the head area, it'll probably be columnaris. Columnaris is less likely than whitespot but it could be an option, so if whitespot treatments don't work try some bacterial meds.
Note - if white spots spread/grow and fish becomes lethargic or shows other symptomes when the temp. is raised, it could be bacterial as bacteria multiply faster when it's warm.

Thank's for your kind reply :) last night i added some salt last night and i noticed the little spots where go on the fish, but still was rubbing the gill, so I thought it can not be white spot as the others will of got it and just adding salt wound't of done anything over night? so today i got some medication called King British Disease clear, for most bacterial and fungal infections and also claims to aids regeneration (must think the fish is Doctor Who) and healing of damage tissues. So i will see how this goes :)

Got my test kit today :)
ammonia : 0

nitrite : 0

nitrate : 15

ph : 8.0

Thank's both of you :) for your reply

John
