Fungus Spread

Okay so i now know what was the cause of the fungus breakout. I found a dead mollie inside one of my ornaments in the tank. I right away did a water change 25% and i'am adding more fungus medication to hopefully stop all of this infections. I was able to grab the cardinal with the white cotton ball on it's tail and take a good look at it. The cotton ball was clearish-grey and had two tiny solid white balls inside of it. Noted also he was swimming lathargicly. So with tweezers i poped it and it opened and released those white balls. Anyhow I am going to continue to treat the tank with my current API Fungus Cure medication for the next 48hrs.

My question now is, will my fish become immune to the medication??? and how will i know if so or what should i do about it if they are?

Bacterial meds for columnaris.
Maracyn one and two.
Fungal meds can work sometimes it depends on the strain of columnaris.

is columnaris Ich? this doesn't look like Ich as i said in my other thread.

Ich is where the fish looks like it been sprinkled in salt.
Columnaris is bacterial, if can look like fluffy white greyish growths on a fish.
Columnaris has many diguises, and can show it's self in diffent colour.
Have you read the link I left.

okay i understand then. should i have started a fungus treatment or Columnaris treatment

How long has you been using the fungus med.
If you have been using it a while, I would do a water change and run some black carbon
for a few hours to get the med out of the tank.
Then I would add a bacterial med like maracyn one and two.

i just followed the package. it saide to repeate the treatment. so i did this.

added meds waited 48hrs,
did a water change yesterday 25%
added meds today for another 48hrs of treatments

so this is the 2nd run.

Is the med working, any improvement in the fish.

the only change i noticed is the blob on the cardinals tail got biger and grew two small white balls inside of it. the one platy that had the white starting on his tail seems a tad smaller now.

Does it say on the instruction leaflet if you can use any other meds with the fungus med.

no it doesn't mention about mixing other medications with it. the back says it treats fungus, mouth fungus, body slime & eye cloud, and fin and tail rott.

i am just worried to over dose the poor fish or making them immune to the infections going on and they will end up dying. i had my cardinals for over a year now

I would give the med abit long it's only three days.
If not improvement in five days get back to the board.

Have you increased aeration with the med.

i have adjusted the filter so it splashes and teh surface moves more. i know i should buy an aeration pump i will soon.
