Interesting that the article you mentioned actually mentions melafix as a useful natural treatment for ulceration! It's certainly no worse today, so i have continued treatment with melafix for now. The platy appears to have cleared completely of whatever was on it. It is possible that the Gourami has caught himself on something, the edge of the bog wood in my tank is a possibility.
