Just after some advice. My tank is only two weeks old and two Sunset platies have been in there for 7 days. Today while carrying out a water change I have spotted a couple of fry in the tank.

Firstly will the parents eat them? I have limited room and plants in the tank as it is a Fluval Edge. If i did want them to survive do I need to get special food or small compartment for them in the tank?

Cheers

If you wanted to keep them, I wouldn't do anything except provide lots of hiding spaces, unless of course you definitely wanted both of them, in which case I'd probably be tempted to get a breeding net..or whatever they are  Never had to use them myself, the biOrb has too many hiding places!

If you can provide some cover for the fry, some should survive and thrive. I use java moss in most of my livebearer tanks for cover because it will grow in almost any light and provides a gret place for fry to hide. This is a clump in my guppy tank.

This is a smaller clump in my Heterandria formosa tank.
