I'm not sure if a Pleco would much your fry - it'd be about 50 / 50 IMHO, Pleco's tend to be the ' greener eater ' , but the fry may be too tempting for it.

Got a beautiful Golden Nugget Pleco, hasn't bothered the fry, hasn't come out of hiding either
