I have my fry tank for them to grow out before i either keep them or sell them back to LFS Was browsing my main tank this morning and seen a wee fry next to one of my plants lifted it out and managed to get 3 fry altogether

My one and only question is can i put these in the tank beside my other guppy fry ? The older ones are around 6-8 weeks are just starting to get there colour ...Really don't want the new babies to get eaten and i know they're way to small to go in the breeding trap as they are lil houdini's

Will they be ok if i put them in i have 1 very large bushy plant in the tank which they could hide very well in ...When i first set up the tank i had all the first lot of fry and a 8 week old platty fry in there and i don't think she ate any of those fry

Help :D

xx

It will be close as at 8 weeks the old fry are almost big enough to go in with the adults. It would certainly be safer than the other option of not moving them.

if the older fry can't fit the new fry in there mouths they should be fine adding a bit of moss to the fry tank will just give that little bit more cover just incase :)

cool i'll put them in just now . just wished i had listened to my instinct last night and put the mother in the breeding trap ! Hopefully the older fry will have more colour next week and i can get them into my tank then to the lfs once i manage to sex them ! the gonopodium (sp?) is so hard to spot against sand especially when they're nearly the same colour as it ! :D

Well they're still alive ! Put them and and they've hidden in the plant right next to the heater seen a few of the older ones go and inspect them but no munching !

Also found some snail eggs in the tank ! Eeeek ! So scraped them out hopefully i won't have an outbreak of pouch snails any time soon ! lol
