The only fish we thought were pregnant were the guppies, and both of them look exactly the same as they were before. Absolutely huge. So, no idea where these babies came from! Also, I thought fry always came out silver? Well, we found 4, 1 of which is silver - the other 3 are orange!

the silver ones are prob guppies, do you have any platties or swordtails in there that could give orange fry?

Well, we've just added swordtails a couple of days ago and that was two females. Erm, there was one male platy in the tank(we added another male one with the swordtails). I definitely don't think the guppies have had their fry yet, the just look completely the same. And never thought any others were pregnant. Someone definitely was, lol.

the orange ones are probably swordtails. as guppie fry are almost never orange.

Your swords were most likely pregnant when you bought them, I had the same thing happen to me with a molly. She was in my tank for literally 5 mins before she had her babies.

silver is from guppies,
and i also had the same thing happen, i had platys for about an hour and there were lots of little ones around that my angel fish were eating.

There's definitely no more, there was one in the filter dead but I guess the others got eaten :( I'll just keep an eye on the guppies and see if there's any more as they still have very dark gravid spots and looking ready to burst!

I bought 4 mollies and had fry 3 days later. It's quite common to buy pregnant livebearers because the LFSs dont usually bother keeping them seperated.

Congrats on the babies! :good:
