Well, just wanted to give a little update on my Variatus Fry. For those of you who haven't read the original topic, you can find it here.
Anyway, I found 3 more on the 15th of this month. I have been raising them in a breeder net, but today they got let out into the wide open tank. The largest is about 1 1/2cm and the smallest is almost 1cm. The parents show no sign of wanting to eat them, which partly confirms what I've heard. Variatus are better parents. I could never let the fry out this young with my Maculatus, they'd be toast.
Anyway, the Varitus are growing up very nicely. I have a few that are already showing some black on them. Oddly, the biggest one isn't showing any signs of black, just some yellow and orange. We'll see how he (Well, I'm guessing he judging by the longer anal fin...no gonopodium yet) turns out! I will keep you all updated on them ! And I'll try to get some piccies when they get a little bigger.
Bryan1957 - If you're reading this...I know you said you want some in my original thread, so once I make sure they turn out okay I might be able to give you the three from the batch on the 15th. Don't count on anything quite yet though, I still need to figure out a few things.
