as some of you know i have recently had molly fry and they are doing fine in a floating trap,
i want to get i tank for them will a 10L tank be enough for them and future fry.

it really depends on how many fry you have. i have an 11L plastic tank from Wilkos that i raise my cory fry in for the first month but they soon out grow it, i currently have 18 4 week old corys in it and they need moving asap to have more room.

I have my guppy & platy fry in a 90l plastic storage tub, they seem to do fine in there,i did start off with a small tub,but mass production of now 300 fry i needed a bigger one.so short term while they grow out could be a month or two until they're big enough to put in the main tank.

I am interested in this storage box idea...can someone expand thias idea plz....do you use filter...heater etc??

Hi Jayne

Yes just set it up has a normal 'tank',with heater, filter etc, most storage boxes have lids has well, just a cheap & cheerful way of raising fry until they're big enough to move on :)

sorry for the hijack but....

what litre do you use?
I have 53 fry, and i aim to place them in a 64L tank once it finishes cycling. how old should they be when i transfer them, as they are in the hatchery at present...the largest one i9s about 1cmmish long

When i had 300/400 fry i had them in a 90l tub,i personally wouldn't keep them in a trap for too long, maybe a few weeks at the most
The fry can be transferred over at any time, maybe use some the tank water from the tank they're in before you transfer,so not too much of a shock for them,or acclimatise them like you would with other fish :)

You need a shoehorn to squeeze that many fry into just 64L Lilyrose Tank. They will be fine there for a few weeks but will need more room to grow before long.
