Hello. I finally got my fry tank decorated today (had to wait on the paycheck). Do I need to add anything? More plants perhaps? Since I'm using live plants, do I need an airstone? My temp is at 75* F. Is this good or should I push it up a little? Also, when will my platy drop? Right now the tank (5 gallon) has 1 pregnant platy and 4 rasboras to give her some company. she was in with 1 male platy before I set up the tank. When the fry are born I will move the rasboras and either remove the mom or divide the tank with mom on one side and babies on the other.

it looks great to me but are their gonna be other fish with them? those rasboras would brobably eat them.

The rasboras are going back in with my gourami. They are only there to keep her company. She was in with 1 male before I moved her over today.

oh i see. i would have her in there alone. back when i used to have freshwater tanks my livebearers always got pestered by other fish when giving birth.

When she gets closer to dropping I will move the rasboras

will do. How far out do you think she is? the bottom pic was taken 30 minutes ago.

hm she actually looks a bit stressed to me but otherwise i think she could drop within a week. :good:

She may be stressed because I moved her this afternoon. She's only been in this tank for 6 hours. Also, she was in with 1 male platy who wasn't extremely active. The rasboras don't mess with her, but they do swim around a lot more. The lights are all off now which should help.

Could she really drop within the week? She hasn't squared off yet and she's still pretty active. I just switched the rasboras over to thier original home. That should help her relax some too.

hm i neglected to look at the dates  . maybe two weeks is more like it.

I made a sponge filter using a DIY post on here. I will post pics tomorrow and then again next week without the HOB. I'm going to let it sit in the tank for a week with the HOB filter so that I don't have to cycle again. Otherwise I might kill my mommy fish!
