I left for school this morning and came back and saw a fry clinging to one of my floating plants...so i was excited and went looking for more...soon i found 10 and thats all i found so far....i moved them to my 2 1/2 gallon with a whisper filter and a fry net over it. I fed them food flakes as much as i could crush them up.... 2 are deformed and ill grow them anyways i wouldnt want to flush em  so my questions are these

-How long until i should start determining when to sex them
-Is it ok to feed them the food flakes 2-3 times a day
-Will they all live?
-How long does it take for them to grow up?

 Help would be mucho appriated

What type of fish? Feed them a very tiny amount of finely crushed food 3-4 tmes a dya and remove anything that is not eaten (if you can  ). They will all most probably not live as they may succmb to pre existing problems. As you mentioned 2 are deformed and these may not make it and others that appear perfectly healthy also may not. it is not something we have a lot of control over other than offering a clean, stable environment. It usually takes a few months (in a propersized tank) for the fry to grow up. HTH :)

Im not sure...all i know is i bread a really nice lyre tail with a regular ol blue tail guppy :dunno: So alot of yours died???? :( i hope my dont

No not alot and i didnt mean to alarm you if i did  i just wanted to make sure that you were prepared for the inevitable. By the way in response to your first post they will be full grown around the 6 month time frame and will be about an ich or so by the third month. :)

First, congrats on the fry.
I wouldn't get depressed yet on your fry dying. If you have a healthy environment, your fry will most likely survive even the deformed ones. I found raising fry to be very easy(been raising over 200 guppy fry for awhile now) and i have many deformed ones that are already 2 months old, eating, swimming like the rest of them and my fries survival rate was VERY high(maybe 1 in every 40 died). As for your questions.......
-At 3 months you should start seeing the sexes appear(female having gravid spots, males having gonopodiums) and for them to reach adulthood I'd say wait 6-7 months.
-Feeding them finely crushed or powdered flakes will be fine just as long as the pieces are not too big for them to eat. I also feed my fry frozen blood worms and they love it(it powders up easily too).
Good luck

hey......ur deformed fry will be fine. ive got one deformend molly fry and he seems growing better then the others. Wait till they bigger then the fish in ur tanks mouth and then u can let them go and breed.
