Pretty much has been the same for me all the time I've had livebearers but even more with my Goodeids if the waters hot ( Summer ) I tend to get mostly males but in the Winter an even amount of males & females also if the PH is closer to 8 than 7 ( I get mainly females ) if the water PH is below 7 I tend to get males but get an even amount of males & females if the PH is constant around 7 .

Has anyone else noticed the amount of one sex to the other and the reasons why !!

My guppies (only livebearer that I've kept) really seem to be 50-50 mix between males and females. I've not heard anything about temp or ph changes effecting the ratio between male and female births.

I had a tank with two guppies and a pregnant platy. There was an infection so i used aquarium salt as an antiseptic for part of the treatment. Due to the salt the PH was around 8 (8.5 at some points) and there were 3 guppy fry that didn't get eaten and 1 platy fry that didn't get eaten. All were female.

I think turtles are kind of similar. Weather conditions can affect gender majority.

Post a pic of your fry on here, as fry you won't know the genders as the gametes haven't developed yet, if it bothers you, remain the pH level at 7 so you get an equal ratio

Can't control the amount of one different sex during the summer months when you can't control the temp in the tanks I get males . This is just a post to explain maybe why I get one sex more than another and to try an explain it to others wondering why they have all one sex and not an equal amount of each and to show how to change that
