Nice video but those things are small! Congrats and I hope they have more babies for you to show us all :D

I can't really see them, but lyretail swords... brilliant!!! :good:

I know, it's hard to catch them on film with the correct zooming mode on> I will wait a few weeks and hopefully then you'll be able to see more of them. They do grow quickly in good conditions, I believe.

+ The mother has very long extended fins and two extra 'fork-like' parts in the middle of her Caudal fin> the other Adult Female (who is also pregnant) does not have as long fins.
It Will be interesting to see how long it takes to distinguish the Gender of the young uns'.

:good:

Thanks> they are about 4mm at the moment! Once they get the food in them I reckon they'll grow well.

My other Female seems to be rather plump also, but I want this batch to have no predators in with them.....The divider has a few gaps where the fry can get through, so I hope they grow more before putting the other Adult in, she's almost ready to have her batch.

There are plenty of plants in as hidey-places, so maybe they can dodge the other Pregnant Mother Swordtail whilst she has hers....not sure whether to add her or not ? ? Mmmmm..

Maybe it would be better to put the mother in just as she is going to have her new batch of fry.
Are you planning to rear all the fry the mother is going to have or let 'nauture take its course'?

Probably will do that> and try to plug the gaps (1/2 cm) at the edge of the divider with plants/ gravel and stuff.

> I plan to rear as many as possible and then keep a select few/ exchange+sell others to Lfs/ donate some to mates; when bigger.
